Description
New for SS25, the Laser Lite 2 is a lightweight, high-performance 2-person tent, designed for backpacking, bike packing, and endurance challenges. Weighing just 1.24kg (max) and 1.16kg (min), it offers increased inner space, a TriPlex™ flysheet for added stability, and is made from recycled, PFC-free materials, making it one of the most sustainable ultralight tents available.
The Laser Lite 2 is engineered for adventurers who need a tent that is lightweight without sacrificing durability or interior space. Designed for fast-paced expeditions, endurance challenges, and multi-day treks, this two-person shelter provides a balance of weight efficiency and comfort, making it an ideal choice for those who enjoy the remote outdoors. For 2025, the Laser Lite 2 has been refined with several key innovations. The updated TriPlex™ flysheet fabric delivers enhanced stability and increased resilience to adverse weather conditions. Sustainability remains a core focus, with the tent incorporating recycled, PFC-free, and solution-dyed fabrics, ensuring an environmentally conscious design without compromising on performance. The AiroCorner™ technology improves groundsheet integrity whilst increasing flexibility and usability. With an adjustable connected flysheet and inner, setup is more efficient, providing a reliable pitch that adapts to varied terrains. Further refinements include a new High-Pressure Silicone groundsheet, which improves the weight-to-strength ratios, ensuring the tent remains as light as possible while offering essential ground protection. Practicality and usability are central to the Laser Lite 2. The addition of two side-entry doors—one C-shaped and one D-shaped—offers greater accessibility and ventilation, making it easier to enter and exit the tent while optimising airflow. With a spacious 220cm inner length and flexible inner width of between 120–130cm (centre measurement), it provides increased comfort for two occupants while still maintaining an impressively compact packed size of 30cm x 14cm. Designed for those who need a fast, efficient, and highly reliable shelter, the Laser Lite 2 integrates seamlessly with Terra Nova’s FASTPACK system, allowing for a customisable ultralight configuration.

Durable. Sustainable. Expedition-Ready. TriPlex™ is Terra Nova's most advanced tent fabric - developed to offer high-performance protection while reducing environmental impact. TriPlex™ is a triple ripstop polyester fabric made from: Recycled fibres - using post-consumer plastic bottles Solution-dyed yarns - reducing water, energy and chemical use PFC-free coatings - free from harmful fluorocarbons The result is a rugged, weatherproof fabric that's built for serious adventures - and better for the planet. Why We Use It? Triple Ripstop Strength Woven for increased tear resistance and long-term durability in exposed terrain. Sustainable Construction From yarn to coating, every layer is designed to minimise waste, water use and emissions. Waterproof Performance A High-Pressure Silicone Coating (HPS Si/Si) is applied to both sides of the fabric - for lightweight waterproofing that lasts, with no need for toxic WR treatments. |

Solution Dyed Fabrics What Is Solution Dyeing? Solution dyeing is a process where pigments are added directly to the polymer solution before the yarn is even formed. Unlike traditional dyeing (which soaks finished fabric in dye baths), solution dyeing locks in colour at the fibre level. Why It's Better for the Planet 80-90% less water used No rinsing or dye baths needed Less energy consumption No repeated heating or dyeing cycles Fewer chemicals No dyes, mordants, or effluents to manage Performance Benefits Fade Resistance Colour is embedded in the fibre, meaning it won't wash out or fade under UV light Improved Durability Fabrics are often stronger and more abrasion-resistant Cleaner Supply Chain Less wastewater, fewer emissions, and more consistent results |

Trekking Pole Compatible Versatility for minimalist, fast-and-light adventures. Some of our shelters are designed to be pitched using standard trekking poles, removing the need for dedicated tent poles and reducing pack weight. Benefits: Simplified packing Fewer components to carry or lose Lighter overall load Ideal for thru-hikers, fastpackers, and ultralight travellers Dual-use gear Trekking poles double as structural support Look for this feature on select tarp tents, bivvies, and minimalist shelters across our range. |

AiroCorner Reinforced corner stability for harsh conditions AiroCorner is a unique Terra Nova innovation designed to improve stability and anchoring at the base of the tent. Located where the tent poles meet the ground, these reinforced corner sections: Spreads tension more evenly Distributes force across the fabric and pole tips for increased stability. Reduces stress on pole ends Minimises material fatigue and prolongs pole lifespan. Improves resistance to twisting in high winds Helps maintain structure in unpredictable weather. "It's a small detail that delivers serious strength where it matters most." You'll find AiroCorner technology on selected all-season and expedition-ready models. |

PFC-Free Treatments What Are PFCs? PFCs (perfluorinated compounds) are a group of man-made chemicals used to create water, oil, and stain-resistant finishes - especially in outdoor gear. While highly effective, they persist in the environment and are slow to break down. Why PFCs Are Common in Outdoor Gear Traditionally, PFC-based treatments have been used to create durable water repellent (DWR) finishes, helping water bead and roll off clothing and tents. They extend product life and improve performance in wet conditions - but at a cost. Environmental & Health Concerns Persistent in nature: PFCs don't degrade easily, and trace amounts are now found in water, soil, and wildlife worldwide. Bioaccumulative: Some PFCs build up in human and animal tissue, raising long-term health questions. Banned in parts of Europe: Regulations are tightening, with many outdoor brands phasing out long-chain PFCs (like C8 compounds). Does PFC-Free Mean Less Performance? No. Our in-house and third-party testing ensures all waterproof garments and tent flysheets meet rigorous hydrostatic head and repellency standards - with or without PFCs. |

Recycled Materials What Are Recycled Materials in Outdoor Gear? Recycled materials in our products primarily come from post-consumer waste - such as used plastic bottles - which are processed into high-quality polyester fibres. These are then spun into durable, lightweight fabrics used across a number of our items. Where We Use Recycled Materials Extremities Gloves & Hats - Many styles include 90%+ recycled fabric content, while still offering the same warmth, waterproofing, and wind resistance expected from our high-performance gear. Select Tents & Accessories - Where fabric performance allows, we incorporate recycled textiles or trims without compromising tear strength, weight, or weather resistance. Why It Matters Reduces Waste Diverts plastic waste from landfill and gives it a second life. Lowers Carbon Footprint Manufacturing recycled polyester can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 30% compared to virgin polyester. Supports Circular Design We're moving toward a gear ecosystem that minimises resource use and environmental impact - while still meeting the demands of serious adventurers. |
