About DRILITE LOFT
DRILITE LOFT is Mountain Equipment's exclusive range of water repellent fabrics used in insulated clothing and equipment. With a water repellent coating that offers genuine water resistance (a 1500mm hydrostatic head), this isn't just a DWR that will wear off. DRILITE LOFT fabrics remain highly water resistant throughout the lifetime of the product. The 30D construction used in the Redline Mitt is totally windproof and highly weather resistant, providing a robust outer shell for the most extreme conditions.
800 Fill Power Down
Goose down is the finest insulating material available, offering outstanding insulation, loft, softness and warmth-to-weight ratio. The Redline Mitt uses 800 fill power goose down with a minimum content of 90/10, individually tested to ensure quality. Mountain Equipment's goose down products are standard issue for many of the world's hardest climbs and record-breaking expeditions. The boxwall construction maximises loft and warmth distribution throughout the mitt.
PrimaLoft Gold Insulation
Warm, soft and lightweight microfibre insulation from the synthetic insulation leaders. With a silicone coating on their fibres, PrimaLoft absorbs little moisture, dries quickly and provides long-lasting and reliable warmth. The Redline Mitt uses PrimaLoft Gold (133 g/m²) throughout, with a double layer on the thumb and inner wrist for additional warmth in the most vulnerable areas.
DOWN CODEX
Since 2009, Mountain Equipment's DOWN CODEX programme has set high ethical standards for down sourcing, eliminating live-plucking and force-feeding, and ensuring only top-quality virgin down is used, certified to the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). The DOWN CODEX is a multi-award-winning certification scheme that considers environmental, ethical and animal welfare matters relating to the down supply chain, grounded in comprehensive and transparent auditing that ensures traceability and quality.
