Mountain Equipment Fang 42+ Backpack

A rugged, adaptable, and easily stripped-down pack, the largest model in the Fang series is perfectly crafted for year-round mountaineering, as well as more remote climbing and ski expeditions.

Developed over several years of rigorous research and field testing, the Fang series has been meticulously designed for mountaineers and climbers seeking a dependable all-round pack for the majority of their alpine adventures. With an ideal 42-litre capacity and a traditional floating lid construction, the Fang 42+ can be packed with all essentials for demanding winter days in Scotland or pared back for lighter, fast-paced ascents in the Alps.

Constructed using high tear- and abrasion-resistant ROBIC® nylon, the Fang remains impressively intact even after prolonged and intensive use. Its design also delivers vital weather protection in harsh conditions, particularly with the addition of a dual drawcord closure at the top.

The Fang 42+ not only stands out for its durability but also for the comfort it provides. EVA foam in the shoulder straps, hip fins, and a thermoformed back panel ensures effective cushioning and support throughout extended wear. A custom-moulded HDPE frame sheet allows excellent load transfer, making it easier to manage heavier loads during mountain excursions.

A side zip provides convenient access to items deep within the pack, while both internal and external lid pockets offer secure and easily accessible storage for essentials like head torches.
