Description

Since its release in 1970, Annapurna remains a popular choice for extended use in sub-zero conditions and Polar travel.

Fifty years later, the Annapurna remains a go-to for extreme cold, combining the best insulation technology with design insights from countless high-altitude and polar expeditions. It’s built for peaks up to 7000 meters and extended sub-zero conditions.

The jacket’s 700-fill duck-down insulation is held in box-wall chambers that trap air and retain body heat. A double-layer baffle construction in the arms boosts warmth, wind resistance, and mobility, reducing cold spots and down migration in key areas like the elbows.

Polarloft synthetic insulation panels across the chest, shoulders, and lower sleeves offer extra wind protection and resist compression from heavy packs. The DRILITE® Loft outer is windproof and water-resistant, protecting against snow and harsh winds.

Expedition features include a pleated halo baffle around the hood, which adjusts to fit snugly around the face, and a neck ruffle that traps warm air, keeping the head and neck insulated.

The modern, streamlined fit allows full movement, while durable moulded zips work well in harsh weather and with gloves. Two large internal drop pockets provide storage for gloves or essentials, and an inner zipped pocket secures electronics. Double front chest pockets and hand warmer pockets offer extra space for food, maps, and other gear.

      Technology

      Fair Wear
Fair Wear ensures that the clothing is produced under high standards that promote ethical working conditions.
      Drilite Loft
Drilite® Loft is an exclusive range of highly water-repellent fabrics used in our insulated clothing and equipment. The original Drilite® Loft introduced almost 30 years ago, was years ahead of its time: a highly breathable, lightweight, and very water-repellent fabric. Those three hallmarks continue with our modern Drilite® Loft fabrics.
      Down 700
Down is the finest insulator that Mountain Equipment has. Its warmth-to-weight ratio, compressibility, long lifespan, and softness are yet to be matched by manmade insulations. For all but the most serious expeditions, Duck Down is a great choice for both insulated clothing and equipment.
      Offset construction
Offset construction products have a unique structure that imparts greater wind resistance, greater warmth and fewer cold spots than traditionally constructed down products. Offset construction is more wind resistant, has fewer cold spots and provides more even warmth than traditional construction methods. It is also softer and more comfortable to wear than a full box-wall jacket.
