Description

Ideal for those embarking on backpacking or trekking adventures in chilly environments, this sleeping bag offers reliable warmth without unnecessary bulk. Whether one is resting in unheated tea-houses high in the Himalaya or staying in winter shelters in the Alps, this lightweight yet warm bag presents itself as an excellent companion.

Crafted with 795g of ethically sourced duck down—each cluster meeting DOWN CODEX standards and delivering a minimum fill power of 700—the Helium 800 merges warmth with lightweight performance. Its outer shell, made from robust 100% recycled Helium 20D fabric, ensures that the bag remains compressible and easy to pack away. With proven features suited for expedition use, this versatile and hardwearing bag excels in both high-altitude backpacking and wintry ski touring.

To maximise warmth and efficiency, the body of the bag incorporates slant-baffle construction, which enhances packability, reduces down shift and prevents the formation of cold spots. The footbox features a sophisticated four-baffle arrangement that concentrates insulation around the feet—vital when enduring long periods in cold climates. Meanwhile, a five-baffle structure in the hood ensures both comfort and the effective retention of down where it matters most.

Within the bag, a soft and durable 100% recycled Supersoft 20D lining—treated with a PFAS-free DWR—provides breathability and long-lasting comfort. A full-length Gemini™ zip baffle acts as a thermal barrier, nearly eradicating heat loss along the zip and reinforced to prevent snagging. Additional features include a low-profile magnetic Lode Lock™ closure and collar drawcords, both intuitive and user-friendly in low-light conditions.

Engineered with a technical yet accommodating Alpine 2.0 fit, the Helium range balances thermal efficiency with reduced weight. With a Good Night’s Sleep Temperature of -16°C (3°F), the Helium 800 offers dependable insulation and portability—making it a dependable choice for cold-weather camping, trekking and mountain touring.

Features

Insulation

  • The baffle layout has been meticulously engineered to achieve the best possible balance between warmth and weight.
  • The Regular version is filled with 795g of 90/10 duck down, offering a loft rating of 700+ fill power.
  • The Long variant contains 840g of 90/10 duck down, also delivering 700+ fill power performance.
  • The down is ethically obtained, adhering to both the DOWN CODEX© and RDS 3.0 standards. More about DOWN CODEX can be found online.
  • Each sleeping bag comes with a traceable DOWN CODEX© code, allowing users to verify the source and quality of the down.

Materials

  • Constructed using recycled HELIUM™ 20D fabric, weighing just 38 gsm. This 20-denier textile is a clever balance of lightness, resilience, and resistance to the elements. Its tight weave defends against wind and warmth loss, complemented by a PFAS-free DWR treatment.
  • The Supersoft™ Lining is made from 38 gsm 20D recycled downproof nylon, chosen for its breathability, toughness, and smooth feel against the skin. It also features a PFAS-free DWR finish.

Patterning & Design

  • The overall design is built with durability and performance in mind, ready for long-term use in alpine conditions.
  • It features a tailored Women’s Alpine Fit, which tapers elegantly and incorporates the zoned EXL® system to maximise thermal efficiency without adding bulk.
  • Slanted box-wall baffles have been implemented to reduce material weight while ensuring even, effective insulation.
  • The down fill is strategically placed, with extra concentration in essential zones such as the underside, hood, and foot box, helping to retain warmth and prevent cold spots.

Foot Box

  • The Trapezium 4 System employs four distinct baffles to boost thermal comfort and stop the down from being compressed around the feet.

Hood

  • Crafted with a five-baffle structure to maintain precise down placement, reduce weight, and lock in warmth.
It offers generous space while still fitting snugly, aided by dual tether drawcords that help retain heat.

Zip Baffles & Collars

  • The Gemini™ Baffle System is lightweight and low-profile, expertly designed to minimise heat loss without compromising protection.
The Lode Lock™ System features a magnetic fastening mechanism combined with a mechanical lock, enabling secure closure and easy one-handed release.
An integrated neck collar, filled with down and adjustable, provides an extra layer of insulation.

Additional Features

  • A waterproof roll-top stuff sack is included, ideal for compact packing and keeping contents dry in wet conditions.
The supplied storage cube helps maintain the down's loft when stored at home, prolonging its performance and lifespan.

Technology

Down Cycle
The recycled Down Mountain Equipment comes from post-consumer goods—unwanted clothing and bedding collected by waste recycling companies.
Down 700
Down is the finest insulator. Manmade insulations cannot match its warmth-to-weight ratio, compressibility, long lifespan, and softness. Duck Down is great for insulated clothing and equipment for all but the most serious expeditions.
Helium
Helium fabrics are exceptionally light, compressible and soft. Their densely woven construction ensures the highest levels of down-proofing and wind resistance.
