Mountain Equipment K7 Men's Jacket

A highly insulated down jacket designed for winter climbing and mountaineering at altitudes above 5000m.

Initially created as a last line of defence for demanding Alpine-style climbs at high altitude, the K7 has been tested on some of the most challenging expeditions, from the Slovak Direct on Denali to a Piolet d’Or-winning first ascent of Nyainqentanglha’s South East Face in Tibet. It has since evolved into a widely favoured down jacket, suitable for environments ranging from the 6000m trekking peaks of Nepal to Aconcagua and the Polar regions. The qualities that make it indispensable for elite mountaineers are equally valuable for those embarking on their first remote expedition.

The K7 Men’s Jacket incorporates 300g of premium Goose Down, providing optimal insulation through a full box-wall construction that eliminates cold spots. Every baffle is carefully filled and sized to achieve maximum performance and ensure full loft. The jacket's elasticated EXL system at the back further enhances insulation by gently hugging the wearer, reducing dead space between layers and preventing compression of the down without adding extra weight. This EXL system continues into the ultra-protective hood, boosting warmth and ensuring compatibility with a helmet or other layers with minimal adjustment, even in sub-zero conditions.

The Drilite Ⓡ Loft outer shell is completely windproof and highly resistant to weather, while remaining breathable enough to prevent moisture buildup during extended use.

• 300g of 90/10 Goose Down with 800 fill power provides exceptional warmth with low weight and compactness, optimised with a baffle-by-baffle method, and sourced responsibly through DOWN CODEX© and RDS standards.
• DRILITE® LOFT 30 Denier shell is lightweight, weather-resistant, and breathable, with a 1500mm Hydrostatic Head, while the 20 Denier downproof lining ensures excellent moisture transfer and comfort.
• Box-wall baffle construction ensures maximum warmth without cold spots and is designed for comfortable layering over other mountain gear.
• Full Dome HC Insulated Hood offers comfort and protection with or without a helmet, while EXL® elasticated lining enhances warmth and loft with minimal adjustment, and the DRILITE® LOFT inner lining reduces moisture ingress.
• Two handwarmer pockets, one chest pocket, and large inner mesh pockets provide ample storage for essentials and warmth-sensitive items.
• The 2-way YKK® moulded centre front zip is glove-friendly, while an offset rear zip baffle
• Adjustable, elasticated cuffs and sleeves designed for ease of movement and compatibility with gloves.
